Welcome to Meadow Mist Counseling. By accessing our website at meadowmistcounseling.com, scheduling appointments, or using any of our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please discontinue use of our services immediately.
These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("Client," "you," or "your") and Meadow Mist Counseling ("we," "us," "our," or "the Practice"), owned and operated by Dr. Sean Alexander, DSW, LCSW.
Meadow Mist Counseling provides professional telehealth therapy and counseling services to adults throughout the State of Texas. Our services include but are not limited to individual therapy for anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, bipolar disorders, personality disorders, adjustment disorders, developmental disorders, ADHD management, grief and loss, stress management, LGBTQ+ support, and substance use concerns.
All services are provided via secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms. By using our services, you acknowledge that telehealth therapy involves the use of electronic communications to enable healthcare providers to deliver services at a distance.
You must be at least 18 years of age and a current resident of the State of Texas to use our services. By scheduling an appointment, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements. Dr. Alexander is licensed to practice in the State of Texas, and services are limited to clients physically located in Texas at the time of their session.
Appointments may be scheduled through our website, by phone at (832) 349-4811, or through our online booking system. We request that you provide at least 24 hours' notice for any cancellation or rescheduling of an appointment.
Late cancellations (less than 24 hours) or missed appointments (no-shows) may be subject to a fee. Repeated no-shows may result in discharge from services. We understand that emergencies arise and will consider extenuating circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
Payment is due at the time of service unless other arrangements have been made. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards. Fees for services will be provided to you prior to the commencement of treatment.
If you are using insurance, it is your responsibility to verify your coverage and benefits with your insurance provider prior to your first appointment. You are responsible for any copays, coinsurance, deductibles, or balances not covered by your insurance plan.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and maintaining the confidentiality of your personal health information in accordance with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations and applicable Texas state laws.
Information shared during therapy sessions is confidential with the following exceptions as required by law:

By using our telehealth services, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to receive text messages from Meadow Mist Counseling, you expressly consent to receive SMS and MMS messages from us at the phone number you provided. Your consent is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.
Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on your appointment schedule and interactions with the Practice. You may receive up to approximately 10 messages per month, though this may vary.
Message & Data Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply as determined by your wireless carrier. Meadow Mist Counseling is not responsible for any charges incurred from your carrier for receiving text messages.
Opt-Out / How to Stop: You may opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive a one-time confirmation message, and no further texts will be sent unless you re-subscribe. You may also contact us directly at (832) 349-4811 or email us to request removal from our messaging list.
Opt-In / How to Re-subscribe: If you have previously opted out and wish to receive text messages again, you may reply START to any previous message thread, or contact us to re-enroll.

No Sensitive Information: Meadow Mist Counseling will never request your Social Security number, credit card information, passwords, or other sensitive personal data via text message. If you receive such a request claiming to be from us, do not respond and contact our office immediately.
Carrier Disclaimer: Carriers (T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, etc.) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Consent Records: We maintain records of your opt-in consent as required by applicable regulations, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and carrier requirements for Application-to-Person (A2P) messaging.
No Sharing of Data: We will not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or any information collected through our SMS program with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your phone number and opt-in data will be used solely by Meadow Mist Counseling for the purposes outlined in this section.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Meadow Mist Counseling, its owner, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use our services, website, or communications.
Our total liability for any claim arising from or related to these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid for services in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to such liability.
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from or related to these terms or your use of our services shall be resolved in the courts of Harris County, Texas.
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically for updates.
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
